A shining example of best practice

We spent a very interesting day discovering a shining example of best practice. We were with The Design Council who had invited us to attend a day trip in and around the Senator International furniture factory.

One of the key things the Senator Group shared during this visit was their approach to sustainability, which is a key characteristic of their brand. Also, the business is seen as a shining example of best practice for the Kaizen philosophy being applied in a UK company.

We particularly liked the quotation written on one of their walls which said “A man’s ethical behaviour should be based on sympathy, education and social ties.”. The whole culture of the company helps to ensure a focus on “improvement” or “change for the best” across the entire business; a continuous attitude of improvement in the manufacturing processes, engineering, and business management.
